Initiation to Opera
Discover music through the whimsical adventures of Alice, a curious, determined little girl. A singer and an opera singer have composed a recital tailored to the young ears of our little music lovers. Accompanied by a pianist, our duo will take them through an anthology of well-known arias from the opera repertoire. In just 45 minutes, the children will journey from Mozart to Rossini, via Offenbach and Massenet. In the warm atmosphere of the Salon Alice Bailly, a story comes to life with characters dressed in costumes, wigs and make-up. A unique and captivating recital!

Machinist, lighting designer, props designer, make-up artist, costume designer and of course… singer ! So many jobs essential to the creation of an opera.
The Opéra de Lausanne opens its doors to young people so that they can spend a Wednesday afternoon behind the curtain. During this visit, children will have the opportunity to meet the various people involved in the life of the Theatre, from technicians to artists. Opera will no longer hold any secrets for them!

The world of Cendrillon in linocut
Let’s dive into the magical world of Cendrillon together. After a backstage tour revealing all the secrets of this opera, come and try your hand at linocutting, a special relief engraving technique.
Accompanied by the illustrator Justine Garnier, you will learn to create your own design and then print it on different materials. You will of course be able to take your design home with you.
Pumpkins, mice, prince and princess will delight this workshop.
